Job Summary
Responsible for implementing and maintaining quality Business Intelligence (“BI”) systems, which effectively support the Enterprise’s overall business goals and objectives. Ensures BI system design, development, testing and documentation are completed to meet IT Life Cycle requirements. Manages implementation and maintenance projects to ensure systems are implemented/maintained in a quality manner within time and dollar budget requirements. Serves as the customer relationship manager for Enterprise’s BI customers. Develops and maintains primary relationship with vendors.
Job Responsibilities
• Leads the definition and implementation of a clear Enterprise’s BI Strategy, includes plan to educate and inform Enterprise leadership and staff about BI.
• Leads the definition and implementation of the Data Governance organization and process.
• Manage BI implementations or upgrades using matrixed staff from the user departments, vendors, contractors, and IT department; ensure each project has the correct sponsorship, clear business objectives and communication flow, plan and budget approval; responsible for the execution of the plan and risk management.
• Prepare project plans and timetables for project team to use in systems design and implementation; ensure compliance with project deadlines and reports variances to the plan for action by the project team and project sponsor(s).
• Ensure resource and financial estimates are completed for all projects and track actual progress vs. budget.
• Coordinate with Director, TSNE to ensure the reliable delivery of technical solutions.
• Lead in translating operational needs of the business into system solutions; develop and document system requirements and specifications in cooperation with business sponsor(s).
• Ensure the design, development, and testing of the solution meets the overall business objectives.
• Manage issues and report outstanding/critical issues to business sponsor(s)/director for resolution.
• Lead project team/sponsor review of completed system and work flow processes to ensure that procedures, flow, and functions meet specifications and requirements and that the overall business objectives are achieved.
• Maintain primary relationship with vendors including management of problem resolution.
• Coordinate with the Help Desk Team Leader to ensure a smooth project transition.
• Proactively project future business system upgrades, installation and work flow requirements to meet corporate objectives, keep systems current, and/or to correct business problems.
• Provide technical and functional consultation to project team and customers.
• Ensure projects utilize IT Project Life Cycle guidelines, standard documentation and reporting.
• Lead in the development and implementation of IT policies, standards and procedures including project planning, tracking and documentation.
• Work effectively as an IT team member and with management and personnel in other departments.
• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with end-users and management to improve customer satisfaction.
• Provide ongoing support for operational systems.
• Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of project management practices and skills, systems analysis and quality assurance techniques, project planning and control, communication, training and presentation techniques.
• Stays current with advancements in the field of BI.
• Project Management Certification.
• At least 8 – 10 years experience in implementing and developing technology solutions.
• At least 6 – 8 years project management experience working with medium- to large-scale BI implementations for the Financial Service and/or Real Estate industry.
• Demonstrated ability leading the definition and implementation of organization-wide Data Governance process.
• Demonstrated ability leading cross-functional project teams in implementing a BI project of a significantly complex nature.
• Ability to balance a wide variety of priorities and influence a very diverse group of managers and specialists to achieve tangible outcomes.
• Has a history of strong internal collaboration and working as a lead resource. Able to influence a diverse customer base.
